The main goals of the project are to identify the botanical sources of resins used by honey bees for propolis formulation by metabolite fingerprinting analysis and to identify bioactive components of propolis that inhibitPaenibacillus larvae growth using both bioassay driven purification and metabolomics-based methods.
This project is a collaboration with Marla Spivak in the Department of Entomology and Jerry Cohen and Gary Gardner.
